Westgate & Birchington Golf Day 2017

Charity Golf Day at Westgate & Birchington Golf Club, the day was in support of SANDs (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity) in Memory of Ronnie Miles a beautiful little boy who passed away suddenly at 3 weeks of age.  Ben & Laura ‘Ronnie’s parents’ after receiving support from Sands said they were looking to ‘give something back’.

What they actual achieved was nothing short of a miracle!  In the adversity of their loss they bought together a community, businesses were happily donating time & resources & raffle prizes, while residents effortlessly gave up their time to do anything they could to help. The Charity Golf Day itself could not have been a greater success with the club setting new records in all departments.

The day was truly blessed by sunshine and good spirits in memory of little Ronnie.  Ben & Laura would like to thank everyone who took part and helped in The Charity Day.  Their fund raising has already raised over £8,000 and they are already planning future events including the Ronnie Miles Annual Golf Day.  The day also featured Ben and Chris of Think Big Tech charity golf challenge whereas Chris required a certain handicap having never played golf before to play at Royal St George’s in October.

The long and the short of it is Chris will now be Ben’s golf caddie on the day! Ben & Chris will be continuing their fund-raising journey at Royal St Georges in Oct with a Think Big Tech Golf team of four + Caddie Chris.

If you want to get involved please either contact Chris at Think Big Tech 01304 806435 or Ben at the Golf Club 01843 831115.  Westgate & Birchington Golf Club have a number of exciting sponsorship opportunities available to find out more please email office@wabgc.co.uk or call Ben on the number above.
